This position will join the Energy Efficiency & Performance team in our Marine Operations Management department (MOM). The team is dedicated to enhancing energy efficiency and reducing emissions through technical and operational improvements, including vessel performance monitoring, data analysis, reporting, and optimization.
What we’re looking for
This role is critical to our strategy of driving vessel energy-saving initiatives to meet ambitious emission reduction targets (read more about those in our sustainability pledge and the annual report). It focuses on managing and executing energy efficiency upgrades across the fleet, delivering projects from inception to implementation and evaluation.
Your work will involve coordinating with internal teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure timely, on-budget project delivery. Being able to collaborate with technical, operational, and commercial teams in a global setting is key to integrating energy initiatives fleet-wide.
Additionally, you will provide guidance and training on energy efficiency best practices to crew and shore staff, support innovation, and engage in industry forums, working groups, and R&D efforts.
Responsibilities
- Manage and execute energy efficiency improvement projects from concept through to implementation and evaluation.
- Work with technical, operational, and commercial teams to integrate and implement energy initiatives fleet wide.
- Follow up and evaluate the performance of implemented energy efficiency measures, ensuring they deliver the expected outcomes and identifying areas for further improvement.
- Provide guidance and training to crew and shore staff on energy efficiency best practices.
- Support innovation efforts aimed at improving vessel performance and energy efficiency
- Cooperate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Engage in industry forums, working groups, and R&D initiatives as found relevant to stay at the forefront of energy efficiency trends.
Qualifications
- 3-6+ years of experience, preferably from a similar role
- Strong project management skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in energy efficiency technologies and sustainability practices in the maritime industry.
- Technical understanding of vessel operations.
- Proven experience in managing technical projects and driving project success.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment and build positive relationships.
- Adaptable to changing project demands and priorities.
- Fluency in written and spoken English
