About Us
The Wallenius Wilhelmsen group is a market leader in roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) shipping. Building on 25 years of experience, we are now building a new business unit called Digital Supply Chain Solutions (DSCS) with a goal to become the leading neutral supply chain and mobility orchestrator.
Here are the top 3 reasons why you should come on board:
- You’ll be one of the first people on board our brand-new digital startup (don’t worry about stability - we have lots of support from being part of a larger organization).
- You’ll be the key driver in creating our new products and work closely with some of the best people in the industry to help you make this happen.
- You’ll contribute to making the industry more sustainable and efficient, through building a product that will empower millions of supply chain workers around the world.
Are you ready to navigate the digital seas with us as our Product Manager?
What we're looking for
At Wallenius Wilhelmsen, we go to work to keep the world in motion. With the knowledge that the world's resources are limited, we challenge old rules with fresh ideas. It's part of our responsibility as a global company, and an opportunity to create a competitive edge.
Joining the newly formed Digital Supply Chain Solutions business unit, we believe you’ll help us create that edge and bring our industry into a new digital age.
As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for combining custom-built capabilities and our procured Transportation Management System (TMS) to create a world-class supply chain orchestration. If you are not familiar with supply chain terms or don’t know what TMS is, don’t worry, we will teach you!
In our team, you will be an integral part of creating the product culture and establishing ways of working to ensure we’re developing well as a unit.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire product lifecycle from end to end.
- Manage, develop, and nurture a cross-functional team.
- Establish and manage an outcome-based product roadmap and align the product features and capabilities with the business teams to meet strategic objectives.
- Collaborate with customers, users, partners, the DSCS management team, and other key stakeholders to capture feedback, understand business needs, and translate their vision into action.
- Communicate the value of the product(s) to stakeholders by showcasing and demonstrating its capabilities and features, effectively selling the idea and driving interest and engagement.
- Build a strong relationship with the vendor and gain a deep understanding of the procured TMS system that will play an important part in the product offering.
- Map current and planned capabilities of the TMS system towards our strategy and business requirements and identify gaps where we should focus our custom development.
- Work closely with engineering both in our and other business units on how we integrate the TMS system with existing and future custom systems.
- Understand market conditions and competitive landscape.
Some traveling will be needed.
Qualifications
- Experience in Product Management, preferably working in a B2B context.
- Experience within the supply chain, transporting, automotive or logistics industry.
- Great understanding of customers’ and users’ needs and ability to communicate with them well.
- Ability to identify and discuss both the big picture and the necessary details to bring ideas to fruition.
- Data-driven decision-making skills, with experience using analytics tools to inform product strategies.
- Experience with working with vendors of procured solutions is a requirement, experience with TMS solutions is a plus.
- Education within relevant fields is preferable, but relevant experience can compensate for lack of formal education.
On a personal level, we think you can be described as self-motivated, excited to make an impact and a great communicator who can speak to and influence others across cultures and levels.
At Wallenius Wihelmsen, we're not just looking for a perfect requirement match - we're searching for passionate individuals with unique perspectives. Research shows that women and members of minority groups are less likely to apply if they feel like they don't match every requirement - give us the opportunity to decide if that's the case! Your experience and enthusiasm matter more than checking every box, and we'd love to get you on board!
Why should you apply?
- Terms and compensation at a competitive level, standardized across the organization.
- Premium health and group life insurance, including access to online medical services.
- Great pension scheme.
- An opportunity to be a key influence on how our products should look moving forward.
- A great opportunity for development in a global company.

- Paid parental leave and compassionate leave.
- Modern office facilities at Lysaker with top-notch in-house canteen with subsidized lunch and available free parking.
